Favourite Holiday/Vacation Experience

I have been working all week and it’s getting on a bit. The last thing I want to hear is more about web design, so instead I want to open a thread up which would side-track us a little but keep us united.

As the holiday’s come to a close, a good thread topic is “What is your best holiday” and '‘Worse Holiday Experience’

I will kick off the thread, my best holiday has to be my Cyprus holiday, mainly because it’s cheap and pretty awesome! The worse holiday experience I had was in Egypt as I felt restricted and it was just too hot!

Though I have to travel arround the world a lot but It was the best experience while traveling around India. The traditional building all over the country give you a supernatural experiennce, you can also enjoy mountain, desert, sea beach. It’s like traveling all the world in one country. I am now fully in love with India.

I love holidays as it is the time that I could relax and have more fun traveling to other places. I could say my trip to Japan is the best as I experienced real winter (with snow) for the second time in my whole life (the first time was in Boston & NY). But then still Japan experience became memorable for me because of the people that I have been into - they are so warm and hospitable and may be because I stayed more days in rural areas (Aizuwakamatzu City and nearby town) than in Tokyo City. I enjoyed the Ski Resort in Mount Bandai, boating in Inawashiro Lake, visiting samurai houses and castles there.

I don’t know what is worse because I enjoyed all my Holidays even in Tropical Asian countries…

I go to a tour after every 4 to 6 month and I love to explore the new places and then visit there.
I have visited many countries but my favorite place is Hawaii. . . . . . . . . where I enjoy a lot. I must suggest to visit there if anybody is going to spend their holidays in USA.

Mmm… I would love to the to the US, but it’s very expensive from the UK and I could probably visit 4/5 places with the same budget within Europe.

India is one of the best tourist destination where you see culture, Tradition, fort & Palaces, history and many more things to see

Funny thing, probably my best holiday experience was my Egypt vacation. Was there right after new year so the weather was very good. Food was good, clubs and bars were good and everything (except the alcohol, because the locals do not drink) was incredibly cheap.

Next week, i am going to move with my family to Koh Samui, Thailand…One of the best place ever for holidays and to live !

The main issue I had was with the constant begging on the streets ‘uno lira’ as I last remember.

Some Egyptians even knew Greek. But ultimately I had a bad experience because the person showing us around cornered us and would not let us go until we bought something. It was quite scary. I would never go there again. It’s not worth I would want to be put through. We went via cruise ship from Cyprus to Egypt. At the time cruises where quite cheap. Things have changed now and prices have gone up on this front.

This is a pretty bad experience… Sometimes they are pushing it too much. I had a similar experience around the Gyza Pyramid, I would go on top of a camel and the guy will not tell the camel to go down unless we pay him 50 euro, after arguing a bit, I gave him $5. I have been most of the time in Hourgada, which is a tourist only destination with very tight security…no problems there.

It was back in 2007. Its not a good idea to go to Egypt anymore, with the recent uprisings, its not safe at all.

Just last march 2013, me and my friend had this wonderful vacation to Singapore. It’s my very first out of the country vacation, so it was special to me. I sort of like saved a lot just to be able to pull it off. Anyway, it was memorable. We’ve been to a lot of places there and tasted their food. Singapore almost means diversity. I just can’t find one thing that makes them distinctive. Maybe because I can’t figure out who the singaporeans are, there seemed to be a lot of foreigners everywhere. Most look Asians - thailanders, filipinos, indonesians, indians, etc. Indians are probably the easiest to spot.

Nevertheless, Singapore is a very beautiful and clean country. I love it.

lol, the same happened to us. We also went to the Pyramids, would never go again! I saw those tourists being put on those camels and blackmailed by the locals. When I saw this I never tried to go on one. It’s a different world. I would be very careful in visiting middle-eastern countries.

My best holiday experience will always be spending time with my best friends and family

I recently went to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and thought it was superb. The beach life and the city was exceptionally friendly. It wasn’t as dangerous if you stayed within the touristy areas. The views were spectacular when I did hang gliding.

My favourite holiday destination in this year is thailand (specially Pattaya)… Very good experience.

I love manali. i go after 2 to 3 months to spend my vacations there. i love adventurous places and river rafting is quite famous in manali.

It depend on time of your holidays if your holiday start between October to MArch then you make plane for golden triangle tour for 06 nights and 07 days places to visit Delhi- Agra- Jaipur.
