When I first started around this place, the SitePoint Community consisted of nothing but… the forums. Now I’m not saying for a moment that that was a bad thing, but times have changed and now we’re about a WHOLE lot more than that.

Yup, I’m talking about Facebook.

I’ve spent the last month or so working pretty hard on making our Facebook fan page not only look good, but also offer you information that you might struggle to find elsewhere. There are job ads (we need devs!), some free stuff, and right now I’m running a campaign called Get To Know Us. Each week I bio one of our staff and at the end of the month there is a quiz with pretty cool prizes.

So if you haven’t checked it out already, head over to Facebook and become a fan of ours. You know you want too… :wink:

As an aside, I’m always keen to hear what it is that you’d like to see from us, so make a note on our wall if you have any cool ideas.

We are actively searching for a Lead Developer to guide the sitepoint.com Dev team AND a talented PHP Developer who rocks the PHP world.

I’m not willing to move to another nation (just yet) but I’ve got a loud voice and can operate a robot. My suggestion is that we find an all-terrain remote controlled vehicle (such as a tank or helicopter) that can dock and recharge, and I’ll keep an eye on everyone via web-cam (attached to the vehicle) and moan over Skype. And if that doesn’t give me geek credibility, I don’t know what would… seriously though, I’m not a Facebook fan but I’m all for more community related content. :smiley:

Edit: Actually I would like to perhaps see something that allows the members to better showcase what their up too (outside the community). It would be really cool to give people something more than a basic profile and signature so that visitors can see the quality of our regulars knowledge. Just an idea to encourage networking!

For the record, we really do have two job positions open and are interviewing at the moment.

That job thing is to entice people. They cannot possibly have a job for any developer asking for one. I think your sarcasm suggested that much:D
