Duplicate Content and Copying

I am having duplicate content and copying issues on my several websites. For last few months some competitor or maybe some well wisher is copying my content and creating mini sites of my content. But the main issue here is due to this my websites ranking is also affecting. Please suggest me a solution for this.

There are a few topic about this already you can look at:-

It is near impossible to stop people from copying your content if it’s published on-line.
In some cases you may be able to take action against them.

The way Google deals with duplicate content is it tries to identify the original version of the content, favouring that over copies. So it’s important to try and make them aware that you are the original owner of the content.
To do this I try to get my content indexed first, as soon as I publish a new article, I use “Fetch as Google” in Search Console, which often will get content indexed almost immediately, as which point it will be unique. If it’s indexed on your site first, Google will be more likely to consider you as the original author. For good measure you can also add the author name and date published to an article, in both readable from and structured data for the bots.

Make sure you include links to your other pages in the content, with the full url address. E.g., https://www.sitepoint.com/community/ and not …/community/.

So maybe half the time you’ll get a trackback links that will give your site more trust.

Actually your articles are consider as a original. Because you are uploading it first. Google are very smart than what you think. So google knows that which one is original and which one not. So you dn’t need to be worry.

If you haven’t copied your content from another website and write it by your own, then you have no worries as Google will consider you as the original copy. All other sites that are copying your content will have problems, but not you. It’s possible that you have other issues, so it’s better to make a full check of your websites and find the real reason for that drop.

You would hope that Google is smart enough to correctly identify the original, but they are not infallible.

In rare situations, our algorithm may select a URL from an external site that is hosting your content without your permission. If you believe that another site is duplicating your content in violation of copyright law, you may contact the site’s host to request removal. In addition, you can request that Google remove the infringing page from our search results by filing a request under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

This is why I recommend indexing your new content at the first opportunity.

Google will eventually penalized the spammer stealing your Content

Google will settle this for you. It determines which site was first to upload a content and favors over duplicates which would show in their data that it was uploaded later.

There are content protection plugins available in wordpress. But in the case, the copier that should be being blocked, because the first content is yours, ie the one who is duplicating is the supposed copier.

Hello there,

In wordpress, there are different plugins available so from that you can check it & if you are the first one from other then google didn’t blocked you.
