DIY - there are tons of great books out there that you can use.
I write content and build relative back links. I probably spend an average of 5 to 10 hours a week? But content writing, more than that.
Hi,
One can do his own SEO instead of hiring a SEO company. The question comes how much time one has with him as SEO is a time consuming process and there is no shortcut to it.
Tips or whatever study materials needed to get a clear idea abou how t works are all easily available but following the tips and implementing them in a proper way to get effective results is not a matter of joke as it needs quite a research.
So with that amount of time. I guess you are working on not that many blogs or sites at all.
Depends on the scenario:
1-paying for linkbuilding labor = never.
2-paying for concrete links placements = depends on the quality of the placement.
3-paying on article writing = yes (takes time to find a good writer. when you find one, keep him!)
4-paying for article/directory/site submission = never
I’m working on various things. It’s not all that hard. Why, do you pay for SEO?
Now a days many people are outsourcing their SEO projects to SEO experts, and gaining the benefit, then why do you hesitate so ? go for it and see the improvement.
If you are promoting more pages of your website on more competitive keywords then you needs to pay for SEO. But if you have Good experience in SEO & getting revenue by promotion than you can hire some SEO(Search Engine Optimizer).
I would prefer you that do SEO yourself,
DIY - easy, just follow the Google guidelines and appear on page two/three at best.
Choose your own ‘search terms’ - ask your customers how they found/chose you.
PRO - pay monthly to circumvent (cheat?) the latest Google search parameters. You should make ‘page one’ but only with the search-terms forced on you by the SEO agency. They must prove that your online profits greatly exceed their charges.
As a user I am fed up with the many ‘shopping sites’ that populate the first page when I really want the Manufacturer’s or Distibutor’s website. I no longer look at the first page of results or the accompanying Ads. Like most punters I skip immediately to page two then continue paging until the top entry is not a shopping site. Whoops, I missed yours, sorry!
Search and index services were far more accurate before Google became dominant. The previous era of honest keywords and descriptions featured DMOZ. Honest Web Developers should be finding means of taming this dog-eat-dog overhead, second only to the ridiculous bonuses earned, Worldwide by our idiot Bank Directors.
Alan, (Failed Web Developer)
Google should re-brand as ‘Terrier’ - they have their teeth into us and will not let go!
I inherited a web site to manage a few months ago that was pretty pathetic. By using Google and Bing tools, adding a blog, plus common sense in design and links raised viewers by 6000%. If your web under your control, I would say do it yourself for a fraction of the cost of SEOs.
I think its depend on how many site you are maintaining. if you have a couple of site you can do SEO by yourself, but if you have more than that, it would be very difficult . More sites- MORE REVENUE- so its better to hire Candidates and start Business to Get Revenue from how many sites you want…
SEO is always a hot topic, generating many replies of various and dubious credibility (including this one). In my opinion, SEO is the “snake oil” of the web. If you don’t have at least a rudimentary knowledge of SEO you’re at the mercy of those who may be merciless, much as those who buy worthless (or dangerous) nostrums and mystical potions to cure every malady known to man. Want a “top 10” or “first page” listing on Google (the Holy Grail of SEO)? Hire me and I’ll guarantee a ten word search string that will do it!
Just as every business owner should understand basic accounting principals and tax law even though he or she has an accountant and general business law although they have an attorney, a web site and basic SEO principals are part of the business landscape.
Does anybody know what professional SEO typically costs? On what basis do they determine their rates?
SEO requires continuous effort to get good results. If someone is capable enough to work regularly then it’s very simple and easy to learn SEO and possible to handle onself.
Doing it yourself can be a very inexpensive way to go about SEO but is not always the best. You need a lot of knowledge, time and patience. It is a full time job not I do this this and it will get me a good ranking. More over most of the information available in the net can be misleading, you may end up banning your site.
So think before you act. It is always best to let professionals handle professional stuffs.
Professional SEO can cost you anything depending on the type of site, amount of work, age of site, budget of the client and track record of the professional. It is always wise not to go for cheap options and guaranteed listing in XXX days etc as most use black hat techniques which will give you good result fast but do more harm than good in long term.
What to do while choosing an SEO -
Always read a do it yourself SEO topic throughly. Why ? because it will give you a rough idea what is to be done.
Ask for a quote from a professional then ask them what are the phases and milestones. It will give you a clear picture what the SEO is capable of … Give them your requirement and time… it does take time for a real SEO job which will give you a lasting result. Once you are in the top … do not stop because there is always a competitor who is trying to catch up and over throw you.
Yes, I do it by myself. But some people who are not good at it and have no time to learn it, they need those charged work. In some terms, they are helpful and convenience. Thanks.
there’s plenty of free resources available for you to learn.i think the biggest plus an SEO company has over you is time
to learn new stuff, knoledge using HTML, CSS, PHP etc…
resources like blogs and website and the list goes on…
Hi,
I don’t want to mention the SEO service specifically, but I need your opinion on this type of SEO service offering and get your take if it achievable with white SEO tactics and an “algorithm” that the firm is “not at liberty” to explain.
Pitch from SEO service:
We will not take any payment unless we move your site to page 1 with your desired keywords.
We don’t charge you until you reach page 1.
Now I summarized that, it’s not their exact pitch, regardless, is the substance of that offering achievable with white hat SEO tactics?
Thanks for your feedback.
Respectfully
