Does anyone here use BlueHost.com?

I am looking into BlueHost.com and I was just wondering if her anyone here used it.

w3webpro I believe since 2004 they have changed completely and OP is no longer interested in suggestion. That is very old thread here

you can search for reveiw in this forum or webhostingtalk

These guys are the worst. Constant down times, no support (well you can email them, they just never respond), broken or non-working applications like MySQL, PHP, etc.

These guys must have paid for the good reviews around the Internet because no one in their right mind would ever give more than a 1 out of 10 to Bluehost (and a 1 would be generous).

Bluehost is just terrible.

TheScarecrow, do you have/had a website with bluehost? What’s the URL?

Thank you.

Not anymore - I wrote up a review of my Bluehost experiences at http://bluehost.blogspot.com.

I had a horrible experience with them. Even Geocities is better!

Even so, is the site you had with them still online? I would like to see it.

They are hosting six sites who redirect to me, and making spam. The main problem is a customer of bluehost put six site hosted in they servers ( same site is the six), are pointing to some legal sites of mine; BUT selling things are not realllyt mine. The problem is blocking now mine main sites for the spam of the sites they hosting, and some minutes ago, the NOT READ a letter send to the and the ISP (eli.net ) .

Bad service, yes…

Yes- they are a good host

That’s hard to believe. I used to host with DatHorn, which had a phenomenal reputation. And it was a good host in some respects, but the owner was unbelievably rude. I mean people have publicy blasted him for his rudeness.

I now host most of my sites with vsHosting ($15) and BlueWho ($30). Both are good, but BlueWho offers a little better service. They ALWAYS answer my questions - and usually very promptly, whether I contact them by e-mail or via their support forum. Once, when I was really broke, they even let me go a month or two without paying, letting me pay the back rent when I had the money.

So I host my most important websites with BlueWho - www.geobop.org, www.geoworld.org, www.geozoo;.org, www.geosymbols.org and www.politix.us. I listed BlueWho on my Credits page at www.geobop.org/about/credit/ (credits?).

BlueWho is based in Ireland, by the way.

Hmmm? We were talking about Blue HOST.

Personally, I don’t know anything about them except what i’ve heard… And I leave it to you to find out, by looking around in forums etc.
Yes, they have affiliates… just be aware of that.

Look for host’s contact details

Telephone to them and ask about the details, location etc if you feel suspicious

If there is no reply or unfavourable reply then that host should be avoided.

Look for the management team’s reputation

I have used BlueHost as part of a review scheme we had going last year.

I wasn’t too impressed with their prices but hell, I placed an order. I was shocked when I found my domain had been fully registered and propagated within 2 minutes. I didn’t even know this was possible :open_mouth:

Overall its very good and gets a 9 / 10 rating from me.

Go for it !

I use Bluehost.com and I love it. I’ve honestly never had a bad problem with them. Anytime I call them they resolve my issue right there on the spot with no small talk or anything like that. Always great customer service. I recommended my friend to them a year ago and he has nothing but good things to say about them too. Even their 24/7 chat support is top notch. Issues get resolved quickly and easily. Downtime is hardly ever. My friend who is a big time money maker on the internet relies on them for his businesses.

Check out my review website I made for bluehost please if you would like. It’s my true honest opinion on bluehost web hosting services.

Im interested in them as well… but I havent found much real-life experiences

It seems to have been 2004 seen anyone made a comment to this forum about bluehost… Do anyone have use bluehost right now??? How are they as a hosting company??

Search on webhostingtalk.com, there are a ton there.

Well I found about 6, 5 positive and 1 negative.

Remember that BlueHost will bill you for one whole year at signup.
However, if you choose 3 or 6 months billing cycle, a setup fee of $30 will be added.

That’s a no no.
