So for now it’s webkit-only, and they’re working on getting this to do the same on Android devices (so I’m assuming this is iThings only so far), but the difference is very nice to see.
They take HTML5 canvas API and remove a lot of rendering webkit does with canvas that’s unnecessary for gaming, which results in an increase in frames-per-second and better sound. The demo video looks really crisp.
appMobi are working with the Impact.js guy, which should also bring some interesting new things to mobile gaming.
