Create Your Own Guestbook In ASP.NET

This is an article discussion thread for discussing the SitePoint article, “Create Your Own Guestbook In ASP.NET

Unable to write to the XML file due to this error: Access to the path “D:\Net\data\guest\xml\guestbook.xml” is denied.
I tried several permission settings none of them seems to work.
any ideas?

First thanks a lot for the guestbook. But i am wondering if its possible to display text as typed in the multiline input control. So the text is displayed with enters and blank spaces.

I’ve searched already on this and tried it with an xsl-file but this doesn’t return the expected result. (shows spaces but not the enters)

<xsl:value-of select=“translate(multilinetext, ’ ', ‘& #160;’)” />

Does anyone know if its possible to show these enters or is this simply not possible?

Thanks

And what about paging?
Do you have a guestbook with only a few to show?
What if you have a 1000 items in a database?
One big page and scrolling down?

What are the contact details for Sonu?

I need help getting this guestbook working!

I wrote a tutorial on creating a simply guestbook in ASP.NET 3.5 without writing a line in C# and SQL, although it still uses SQL server.
