If you are using a generic top-level domain (e.g. .com, .net, etc.) you can set geotargeting in Google and Bing webmaster tools to state which country you wish to target with the site. If you are using a country-specific domain (e,g. .in) then this is not possible.

I think you’ll need more than just good SEO to do well, though, as this is a highly-competitive niche.
