Hello. When I visit the SitePoint forums page, I have this big advertisement in the middle of my screen. Is there a way to get rid of it? I don’t mind advertising but when it fills up half of my screen that is a useability issue.
Thanks,
Elizabeth

I don’t believe you can remove that one, unlike the ones that appear at the top of the page. I tend to find that it’s something I tune out after a short while.
Hi there EcolaParadise,
and a warm welcome to these forums.
You could try…
I use the Firefox add-on successfully here.

I am on a tiny notebook, so it isn’t a mental thing, it is a physical thing.
I installed this Firefox add-on but I don’t see it making nay changes. Do I have to do something to make it get rid of the mega ad blocking my view of SitePoint?
As I said in my previous post…
I cannot see any reason why it would not work for other browsers also.

Well, I installed the add-on, but it isn’t doing anything. Do I need to reboot my browser or computer? Or do I have to adjust a setting in the add-on?
I do already have AdBlocker Plus which usually works on things like this but it doesn’t do anything this time.
Right click on it and choose “Block element”
Hi there EcolaParadise,
sorry, but I forgot to mention how uBlock works…
There are also, other more advanced means of blocking the little buggers.

That did it. Thanks!
Thank you for telling me about this add-on. I had no idea it existed, and that is neat how you can pick the offending ad and zap it!
Thanks you!
