What all are the best Social Bookmarking sites? I have searched in Google, and I got a list of 100-500 sites. Do I need to use all these sites for a good traffic? Or?
You must not bookmark your links on 100 or 500 sites. It would be considered as a spam by search engine and of course it does not look natural. You may pick 5-6 high PR sites and bookmark your link. The next time, you will choose to bookmark, you may choose another 5-6 sites, this way you can change them from time to time. This is a best way to do social bookmarking. Talking about the high PR social bookmarking sites, here are some:
Jumptags.com - Beyond Social Bookmarking
Slashdot: News for nerds, stuff that matters
Technorati
reddit: the voice of the internet – news before it happens
http://spurl.net/
Latest Original & Breaking Goodbye Propeller News and Analysis from AOL News
Digg - Submit a link
StumbleUpon.com: Discover the Best of the Web
Mixx - Latest news and top videos and photos from around the web
Delicious
Yes as much as you do social book marking in good sites you will get lots of good traffic there. You can find lots of good sites in Google itself.
Always stick with 5 - 10 quality social bookmarking sites. Never try to put in 100 or more…
@ joe12joe, rahulteak & georgescifo. Thanks a lot.
I would just like too add two more sites my.aol.com and fark.com
Never use more than 10 sites for bookmarking. Try to get established in the regular sites. Create your group, expand it, and post good content.
Thank you.
Not bookmark site on too much sites, but only on high page rank sites.
i think folkd.com is also best one bookmarking website.
My experience of social bookmark traffic all comes from Reddit, Digg, Delicious and StumbleUpon.
In general terms, if you’re not dealing with technology or US political stuff, Reddit is a waste of time. You will get traffic, but it’s very short-lived and generally high bounce rate.
Digg and Delicious are even less use than Reddit, with the Digg site becoming almost impossible to use or find anything on. I rarley use it now it’s so bad.
Stumbleupon is much better. It will give you good single day traffic on the day of submission with some long term low-level residual visitors if your content is good. It’s really hit and miss though. Some days you can get 3-figure traffic within literally hours from a single link, other times nothing for months.
I definitely feel that social bookmarking is probably a long term waste of time. I don’t use any of the sites for anything other than getting backlinks and traffic to my sites and I don’t know anyone else who uses any of them for surfing the web at all. Mainstream (if there is such a thing) web users just don’t use them.
Folkd, Digg and Stumbleupon is on top
