You mean it’s not worth $5.95? You’d be hard pressed to buy two cups of coffee for the equivalent here. Seems like a bargain to me. 
By open-source, do you actually mean “free-of-charge”, because they’re not the same thing. 
$5.95 may be a bargain, but having to upgrade every year turns into a lot more money.
The bigger issue is having Capitalists constantly intruding into my life.
I paid $30-$40 for SnagIt, and those morons spam me constantly trying to get more money out of me.
Open-Source implies “free” in almost any circle I know…
