Affiliates strange Philosophy

As a merchant, I contact many affiliates to promote my different priced products and services. Several times I had to put loads of efforts at my best to convince them for the promotion. They say it’s a waste of time as it doesn’t generate enough profits. I want to know why this happens after all. I would like to see does anyone else faced such issue yet?

before approaching affiliates, try to find answers to certain questions like,

  1. Why should they promote your products if there are other similar products
  2. In which unique way it is different from other products that affiliates are already promoting
  3. Are you willing to give any extra commission to the affiliates
    Approach them with clear details and wait for results to show

The products speak for themselves. The DR industry, catalog industry or online marketing has a list of successful products that are similar to each other, but every product has that “one thing” which makes it “different” and not certainly better to make it sell more.

So try to induce that creativity in your products that make it different from your competition, even if that means a decent price point.

I too face the same issue with my current affiliate program, I had seen only few customers joined our program, Later due to irrelevant traffic which they send us were invalid.

Based on the above issues we have improved our program in the below areas:

  • Look at Your Competition
  • Relevant Products are Key
  • Quality of Products can Impact Your Long Term Brand
  • Choosing the right products to promote in affiliate promotions

Perhaps they (your affiliates) have competitive similar products to promote that bring them more money than your product. I think you should try to ask directly your affiliates that questions in order to receive reliable answers. :rolleyes:
