Question about Flippa

I got 3 bids on a site I've put up for sale last week. Each bid shows up for a certain period of time, I think it's 72 hours or something like that. During which time I can either accept or reject it (doing nothing is like rejecting).

My question is - if this is an auction, why don't the bids stay active until a better bid comes in? I'd like to keep the listing on for the duration of the month, to give more people a chance to bid. Why does the bid disappear after a few days? Can I get back to these people after the auction is done - wouldn't that be against the TOS or something?

If not, then I don't get it. I'm supposed to hurry up and make up my mind on a bid before seeing if a higher bid comes in during the lifetime of a listing?

I am not asking for Flippa support here btw - I realize it's not Sitepoint. I just wonder about the system and asking fellow sitepointers for advice and feedback.
