You should know that. While you're sleeping, your iPhone stays busy — snooping on you

Hi there puffloldaddy,

I just popped into my kitchen, seven step away from my pc,
and saw that, in addition to my toaster, I have a kettle, a
coffee bean grinder and an iron, all of them are electric.

Should I also treat them as Big Brother snoopers?

What, exactly is that?

Hi there puffloldaddy,

Let’s cut to the chase now. :winky:

Please tell me how to ascertain which of my electrical
appliances are in contact with Big Brother.

Bear in mind that I have always avoided items that
have been labeled as "Smart ".

We do not know. They do not want us to know. I think that if we knew then everyone except the elite would be scared.

If the device has GPS and the GPS is on then our location is reported automatically. If no GPS but voice and/or mobile data then devices can be located by cell phone towers using triangulation.

Probably it is not but there is the RFC 2324 - Hyper Text Coffee Pot Control Protocol (HTCPCP/1.0). Note that it is not serious, it is a joke.

Since we know that Big Brother is operating in secret we cannot be sure. Most devices, such as clothes washing machines, have computers (microprocessors) in them. Anything that has networking capability of some type can likely be used relatively easily.

afraid they would be smarter than you?

Sorry, this is all my stupid humor.

But in general, I marked the word “modern”, “network” and so on.
but we found out that you have a computer. By the way, some of your data can be stored in it, and they are already known to certain people.

I am, obviously, aware of the dangers of possessing
and using my computer. :winky:

I do not accept, though, that my domestic appliances
present Big Brother with any of my personal data.

Of course the existence of Big Brother is a political
problem of which this forum, quite rightly, does not
allow any discussion. :taped:

Do you somehow protect yourself from this? Maybe VPN?

Hi there puffloldaddy,

I use VPN when visiting my bank’s site.

And nothing more?

What do you suggest?

They have abundant resources and can pay many people to work on things like this full-time.

Anyone who has not already seen G-Force should watch it now. It is a warning to us all. shifty_suspect
