Wondering if I should buy the Sitepoint book "HTML5 & CSS3 for the Real World"

I am basically a beginner to html/css. I’ve read some books, tried a little coding, etc. Before I get too deep into “old” html, I was wondering if I should just start with html5 and css3. I am not a professional, just someone that would like to try creating a web page or two of my own for personal use. Is this book (HTML5 & CSS3 for the Real World) a good beginner book?

From your description, try reading this.

Yes. I have that book. I thought that HTML5 & CSS3 For The Real World would be a good next step.

Not really, all the book discusses basically is bits and pieces that were used within the demo site it’s not really a reference book or tutorial and the ‘non normative’ HTML5 is in constant flux.
