Why am i not able to post any thing

in the design reviews forum, i have not-just-3, but 6 posts, that offer legitimate advice, and i still can not ask for advice for my own project.

Make sure you are fitting all of the guideline rules.

One of the most often looked over or not met rule is:

Reviews must be of an acceptable length (at least 50 words). There’s nothing to stop you writing shorter reviews as well, but these won’t count towards your three. Advisors will discount reviews that they deem to be insufficient – reviews should offer suggestions specific to the site rather than just offering general praise or generic guidance.

hmmm, i think that out of my 6 or 7 replies, most of them are probably less than 50 words, but they are straight to the point, and directed at SOLUTIONS, and not “word fluffing” - don’t have time for “fluff”. do you think that perhaps none of the advisors have had a chance to check them out, and, the limitation is only a temporary automated limitation?

thanks.

This is the weekend and many of the Moderators are busy and not here.

Besides checking that your minimum of 3 review posts within the past month are “quality”, your site needs to meet certain criteria eg. nothing illegal.

If everything is OK, your request for a review should be approved as soon as a Moderator checks everything. If not, you should receive a Private Message explaining what the problem is.

Try to be patient as the process is not automated and requires a volunteer Staff member to spend some time to do everything.

The problem is that a review request won’t even make it into the moderation queue unless there have been three posts of at least 50 words. There used to be a minimum word count of several hundred words—and I wasn’t convinced that should have been dropped, as it’s not a lot of work to write a few hundred words, and then it’s a really useful review. The reason the limit was dropped is that it is indeed possible to make useful comments in 50 words, and it’s not so easy for some people—especially those for whom English is a foreign language—to write so much, so fair enough … although I suspect most people looking for reviews are hoping for something more detailed.

In the end, some minimum word count needs to be set, and 50 words is pretty reasonable.

yeah, it was as i suspected and was clarified by the last poster: an automated block, due to word length. a few more words - FLUFF - and it allowed me to post one of my own.

thanks for the time.
