Who's scared of zombies?

which was why i loved that movie up until the last 15 minutes where i was confused by nothing fitting.

I was loving it until the woman with kid showed up. As usual, the woman ruins main character’s safety and the kid didn’t even do anything, why was he there?

Anyone wanting to get prepared for the upcoming zombpocalypse should check out http://zombiehunters.org/ (Zombie Squad).

The fact is, if you are prepared for the Zombpocalypse, then you are prepared for any other disaster. Everyone loves to say “that won’t happen to me” even as they watch disasters on the news. Earthquakes, floods, hurricanes… “but I don’t live in areas that have those”… okay, chemical truck by your home/workplace/kid’s school turns over and released a toxic cloud. Our local hospital had drills for those (with chem showers). Gas leak/explosion. Water leak (no water for 3 days, do you have enough water at home?).

We live under sea level, so we have that worry, and there’s a train track nearby with a chemo-train sending chemicals to Germany regularly. If we need to bug out, we can. If we need to bug in, we can. Zombies or otherwise. First aid, check. Blood donation, check. Only thing we don’t have is a fire ladder, because they don’t seem to make any that go high enough for us. There was a fire recently where nobody could leave through their front doors and had to get out via their balconies: we can’t do that. Major flaw in our plans.

Also can’t get on the roof if there are zombies.

Nice link! Joined already  Looks like I could learn some useful stuff about Preparedness which isn’t a bad thing.

Eek.

I am bit scared when i was a child, but now i am not, because they can’t do any thing to me now i am young enough. :stuck_out_tongue:

Here’s an old game ‘zombie golf’ I did a few years back to do with a local topical issue of the time (golf course getting built beside the local beach) in which you get to chop down council ‘zombies’ using your golf club

anything over 5000 is a good score

Ha! Great game, had to tear myself away… managed 3120 before one of my kids came in the office and said ‘are you STILL playing that?’… er no…

There are tons of movies on these beings they are quite scary. I like the new series coming out the walking dead which is all about this.

Well I’m glad that I’m not the only woman to think that! I thought the exact same thing when I saw her and the kid, I thought she was going to be some sort of GI Jane character when she saved him but what a let down! And you’re right, the kid did nothing except watch Shrek  I can’t tolerate films like that, with the stereotypical male/female characters :nono: Let’s hope some zombies will get em!

Women in scary films are always
-causing problems for the man
-falling down when being chased
-investigating stuff she shouldn’t be messing with
-causing problems for the man

Which is why instead of the Black Guy Always Dies First movie rule, it should be changed to Female Gets Herself Killed Before She Can Endanger Every Else. Problem with that is, if female isn’t endangering everyone, there’s less Movie to watch and no Triumphant One Male One Female Survivor ending (those are so boring).

Zombieland: nice film, but the stupid females were so annoying. Causing problems for the men, then getting themselves in trouble by doing stupid thing (attracting every zombie in the area and then going to a ride that goes up and down to escape… yeah how many days did you think you’d last like that…) and needing to be rescued by the males.

Now if it’s like Michelle Rodriguez in Avatar, that’s awesome. That’s who I want to see in a zombie flick. She kicks ass and kills zeds until she’s eaten (due to some Stupid Female letting the zombies in or something).

Movies where everyone dies in the end are more awesome. Or like the low-budget Cube, where the only survivor is a mental deficient/savant.

…Or finding out you’ve been on Earth all along when you find the Statue of Liberty half-buried in the sand…

OK, Action films that were ruined by female characters or totally gratuitous love stories…

Enemy at the gates
Titanic
I legend
Superman
Raiders of the lost ark
Blade runner

Action films that rock because of the female character (but is it because they’re the lead character?)

Alien 1,2,3,4
Avatar
Resident evil
The fifth element
Nikita
Terminator
Tomb raider
Transformers

Action films that rocked because there were no women or totally gratuitous love stories…

Saving Private ryan
Platoon
Die hard
Rambo

I could go on but I’d better get some work done.

Nikita

She was kind of a victim though. Maybe a deserving victim… reminds me of Alex from Clockwork orange.

Back to zombies, there’s http://www.thezombiehunters.com/index.php?strip_id=1 which, as soon as US immigration stops being retarded (may never happen), would pick up and tie the zombies in more so the “character building” isn’t boring or seemingly unrelated.

I expect it to fully rock when finished.

:agree: Totally agree - I really despise chick flicks or stereotypical films, really annoy me and ruin what, most times, could be a great film! I always say they deserve to be killed in those movies where they investigate strange sounds or go to a place where, in reality, you wouldn’t dream of going - but as you say we wouldn’t have a movie to watch if they didn’t! It is better when everyone dies in the end because it’s more realistic! The other thing I can’t stand in movies like that too are the kids - if I see that a kid is going to be one of the main characters it’s a big no no from me - they always ruin it - take Newt “can I go now” from Aliens for example - Ripley would’ve been long gone from that place but Newt had to go and get her doll!

@JMcClure

Die hard - had Holly in that but she wasn’t in it much so yeah it’s one of my favourites too “Yippee-ki-yay”

Predator was another good one - one of the best films ever and my favourite - I liked AVP aswell even though there was a female lead - but perhaps I was distracted by the fighting  I didn’t like AVP2 because of the teeny bopper angle :nono: I don’t know why they keep making films like those, they’re terrible!

How come G.I. Jane didn’t make your list JJ? Or Silence of the Lambs

How could I have forgotten Predator, but I probably missed loads, I didn’t spend long making the lists.

Because it was dreadful?

Yeah add that one for sure, great film.

Omgosh I just got through watching the first episode of The Walking Dead. It’s the best project on zombies I’ve ever seen. This is what’s great about shows. You get to enjoy a lot more of a great thing, whereas a movie is over in around 3 hours, usually less.

AMC has a great thing here. I just can’t get over the one part where that one woman is ‘working’ her way across the park.

Man, makes me wish I lived in the US.

Oh wait I wouldn’t have a job then and so couldn’t afford cable. : (

But if it’s good, they often sell series at outrageous prices in the music stores later on.

It was on in the UK, I was on the edge of my seat all the way through it. Don’t know if I can take that every week! Didn’t have any nightmares though.

They won’t exists. it’s just an imagination
