Just wondering if anyone else is scared of zombies or is it just me?
After ‘Columbus’ brought us 30 rules to survive a zombie apocalypse in Zombieland, I’m feeling much better.
The rules and knowledge that fear is your friend. With those, we will get through this.
…I mean, if it happens
The alternate ending has it’s flaws too. Neither is really right. The idea ending would be a mix between the two (which is closer to the book’s ending).
But at least if you watch the alternate ending you understand what all the hints throughout the movie were about. And the movie’s title makes sense. With the theatrical ending the movie’s title makes no sense.
(can’t go into it without spoilers).
Pretty sure they were vampires… couldn’t go into the light, superhuman speed and strength, etc…
I didn’t think I am Legend was scary either but I do think the Dark Seekers were a great part of the film, entertaining at least and I did like the CGI as you put it!
I know the Zombies you’re talking about and yeah you’re right there’s no sense in being scared but I think you can’t help it, it’s just natural when something as freaky as a Zombie is shuffling after you I think the most unsettling thing is the facial expressions and the eyes - that would give me the shivers and would haunt me more than anything else!
Wasn’t I Am Legend about vampires?
BTW, they messed up the ending of that movie. If you haven’t seen it you should check out the alternate ending - it’s not as good as the book, but it at least makes sense. It wasn’t popular in screenings so they changed the ending - which was why i loved that movie up until the last 15 minutes where i was confused by nothing fitting.
I am scared that they will eat my brains… (plants vs. zombies)
“Dawn of the Dead” freaked me out for a while, too, when I was 14.
My favorite portrayal of the undead was the style of “vampire” in the 2007 film, “30 Days of Night.”
Would Samara, from “The Ring,” be considered a zombie. What do you think?
what???
next you’ll be telling me the tooth fairy doesn’t exist as well
[FONT=“Georgia”]I’d like to start collecting some of the ones I liked. Mostly Evil Dead and the original, black and white, Night of the Living Dead. I thought I am Legend (that recent one with Will Smith) was awesome like a hotdog.

28 Days is the best zombie movie in a long time
Totally, and it’s not like you can turn around and say to them ‘look, let’s talk about this…’. They’re relentless…
I wish my subconscious had latched onto some other image to go along with anxiety dreams, or maybe something else would be worse…
Nope. I figure they have the same weakness for stairs as Daleks.
But now someone’s mentioned The Ring I’m going to have nightmares about Sadako again…
me to.
Can’t say i am scared of zombies.
When i was younger i loved all those old zombie movies like: zombie holocaust, zombie, flesh eaters, zombie, creeping flesh, zombie eating flesh, zombie 3 (1981 version), dawn of the dead and day of the dead.
It never gets as far as what happens after I get caught, it’s just the anxiety of being caught. Occasionally my kids are in the dreams too and that heightens the fear by orders of magnitude, maybe something to do with the responsibility of being a parent?
I should point out that this happens a handful of times a year at most, it’s not something I’d actually worry about, I just think it’s interesting and kinda funny that it’s zombies.
Dunno Tom, was it? I thought it was more of an infection breakout attributed by this cancer treating drug or something - either way, they were quite convincing and kept me glued to the movie! I haven’t seen the alternate ending, this is interesting, must check my dvd for that option it should have it on there I hope!!
Yeah I’m usually falling off a cliff or something - I wonder if we have any dream analysts amongst us, I’m always fascinated by this kind of stuff and what we dream about, what it all means on a larger scale - our subconscious is a power thing! I know the feeling of “almost being caught” -I’ve had my fair share of scary moments in both dreams and reality - that rush and anxiety of almost being caught is terrifying! When you get caught what happens, I mean…how do Zombies actually kill you, do they have any secret weapons or is it just brute force as you say? One knock and you’re out for the count or is it more psychological I guess?
As it’s late here and I’m just about to go to bed, I won’t click that link until tomorrow morning when it’s light and I’m safe
Always expect the unexpected Jake
The walking Dead starts soon, I won’t be able to stop myself watching it…
I am legend wasn’t scary because:
a) they were CGI…
b) they weren’t even zombies, zombies are dead and they don’t think or reason
c) they couldn’t come out in daylight
I’m talking about the shambling ones that are dead, if they run or talk they’re not scary. The zombies in the recent remake of Dawn of the Dead were proper ones except that they could run really fast so they weren’t scary either, you’d basically have no chance of getting away so what’s the point of being scared.
omg… he got to you too…
I just read the alternate on wiki - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Am_Legend_%28film%29 - I wouldn’t have liked that either - I guess I don’t like either ending now at all, for a film like that, I don’t think there should be a happy ending I dont believe that the Dark Seekers are vampires, they do however have similar make-up and behavioral patterns but these were more animal-like I guess
Yeah I agree, I’ve read that if you’re being pursued in your dream and you’re running away trying to hide or evade a “predator” then it’s something to do with a high pressured/stress situation in your life at that time - when you mention your children as well maybe that’s something associated with them too and yes as you say, the responsibility of a parent - which I can only imagine is wall to wall stress, worry and anxiety at any given time! But you know, then again it could be just a plain old simple nightmare as you say you don’t get them often so it just might be something simple - our dreams are funny and terrifying at times though but I do think that we shouldn’t dismiss them so easily as just being a dream - usually our subconscious is trying to tell us something!
