What is better for driving traffic to your blog, facebook or twitter?

The key here is whatever best benefits your intentions, and it also depends on your audience. It is tough to answer with a definitive solution to this question. I own several websites, mainly design blogs. The funny thing is, one site may crush it on twitter, while another may crush it on Facebook. I’ve had some do poorly on both and kill it on Google+. It depends on several factors, like how you built your audience, if you have Facebook integrated comments on your site, how and where you promote your site, and even more factors than that.

Can I ask what platform is your blog built in?

If its a WordPress blog or Weebly, I know for a fact that when you create a new blog post you can automatically send it to Twitter which will auto tweet a link to it.

Then you can start chaining.

Inside Twitter there is a way to automatically send your tweets to your Facebook wall.

It takes some set up but it means as soon as you have posted that blog post it will automagicly appear on Twitter n Facebook.

If you want to take it further there is a useful application online where you create links to other social media. I am sorry I can’t quite remember the name of it. From what I remember you create a chain and say if there is a new post in Facebook post to Instagram, if Instagram post then post to this site and so on.

It depends on how one uses the facebook and twitter for traffic. Involving in group discussions and contributing to the groups in facebook can bring more targeted traffic to the site.

We all know that both website can help in building traffic to your website, so i might suggest that you use both. Facebook and twitter have a massive amount of users, is just that its pretty hard o do promotion in twitter. You need to ensure that you will have a good number of followers, also your post is limited to 140characters so you need to ensure that you tweet must be relevant enough. Same goes to facebook is just that you don’t have the limit in terms of words but indeed competition is tight on the said social medium. In order to stand out you need to make sure that yo post quality and engaging content.

For your niche, its better to test on both facebook and twitter. Check proper timings for postings, create a proper schedule, track properly which of your post or tweet attract more audience and then decide which one is better for you.

The OP hasn’t mentioned what their niche is!

And supposing I’m a beginner in these things? How do I know the “proper” timings, or what a “proper” schedule is, or how to “track properly”? Please give a little more information about how to carry out these tasks.

Then i guess its better to use any social media tool like hootsuite or buffer.

How does that tell anyone what a “proper” schedule is?

Test and measure conversion rates from both marketing channels. We’ve had lasting success with Twitter because we’re B2B and most of our audience are there + industry influencers… Facebook is great for boosting our recruitment marketing.

I would go with facebook because of the messenger integrations which work nicecely in e-commerce world. For blog why not both

Cheers

why not use both… fb takes time to set up… twitter sets up easy…
fb gives you more reliable traffic and its just as easier to lose traffic.
targeting audience is easy on fb as compared to twitter…
although… hashtags are winners for me

In my opinion, you should try to use both, Facebook and Twitter. The traffic depends on many factors, that is why it is impossible to give one right answer which one is the better! But if you want to use only one of this social media, then you have to rely on one that appeals to you more and easier to use!

I use FB and Twitter for developing my traffic! Such social networks are very needed for your developing, that is why, you can use a lot of them! Try to be more creative and everything will be fine!

I get daily 200, 300 visitors from Facebook, Google Plus+ and from Reddit!

I think facebook is better then twitter because most of us give priority using facebook, while twitter access by celebrities the most.
