View php file source

Hi everyone,
I can view an HTML source by selecting “view source” at the browser menu.
I can view CSS code by a click on the link at the page.
My question is:
If the PHPp file’s address is: www.mydomain.com/myscript.php, how can i see its’ code ?
Thanks

you can’t.

the php “engine” on the server outputs only the html generated by the php code and sends it down the line to the requesting browser.

one of the security features of php is that prying eyes can’t see the php code.

Thanks,
I’m not a PHP programmer by now (hopefully i will one day…). My problem as a matter of fact lays at a CSS global file that i can’t locate and i thought it might be part of a PHP file.
Within a PHP file I have a page starts with <HTML> tag, no <HEAD> at all. Within that file there are divs matched to classes such as:“webkit-line-number”, “webkit-html-attribute-value”, “webkit-html-attribute-name” and othe “webkit” classes.
Since there is no header to that web page and since the PHP source is hidden, where can i find those classes?
I know i should issue this question to CSS forum but since i started here i’ll try to find solution here first.
Thanks a lot.

If you can’t see it in ‘view source’, then neither can your browser. Posting some off the php code would be helpful.

This is the beginning of that web page. Do you understand the “”=" between the “spans” ? Where is the <HEAD> ? Where is the CSS file ?
Thanks

are these your php and css files that you are trying to see the source code of or someone elses?

if they are yours, I don’t understand why you can’t just go to the folder they are in and open them in a text editor.

if they are someone else’s php files, you will have to go ask them to give you access to them.

Those are someone else’s files. Question is: Is the CSS source hidden in the PHP file ? If I ask to see that PHP and I dont find the classes’ source therer, whats the good of asking for it ?

in this case, since you can’t see the path to the css file in the html, your only option that I can see is to go see the owner of the files ask him/her to give you the information you need.

You could try: http://home.snafu.de/tilman/xenulink.html

The CSS is not included in the above page… if it was you would see something like

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="class.css" />

In the <head> … </head> tags

The css cannot be ‘hidden in the php’ as if it is hidden in the php, it is hidden from the browser… it just would not make sense.
