Video software similar to animoto with no monthly fees

I’m interested in video software to be able put still photos on a video with music for commercial use with no monthly fees, similar to Animoto. These would be to make videos for my website to advertise my business and put on youtube. I was wondering if anyone new of one for free or a reasonable price, please let me know. Thanks.

The obvious choices would be iMovie or Windows Movie Maker. User-friendly, easy to use. If you’re on Linux, I’m sure that you can find such software as well.

Absolutely. (At least, I’m 98% sure). I’d be very surprised if you couldn’t. Having Apple tell you that you can’t use iMovie for commercial work is like saying you can’t use their OS for commercial work, as it’s included in the OS. Same for Windows.

Yes, you can use them for commercial use. They are both just basic video making software, and any content is still your intellectual property (assuming it was yours in the first place ;)).

You can also use Flash to do the same pretty easily (and then export it in a video format instead of a SWF).

Although it’s much easier to use iMovie than to use a Flash builder like Adobe or code it with Actionscript 3.

Actually, for a slide show with music, Flash Professional is incredibly easy.

But I will concede that Flash Professional is quite easy to use, in comparison with other Adobe products.

Although maybe that’s because I had a video guide for my initial learning.
