Today.php - date and seconds? - (Build Your Own Database Driven Site)

Hey there,

I’ve successfully managed to get today.php working on the local webserver but strangely the output is something like this:

“Today’s date (according to this web server) is Monday, August 0901 2010”

Looks like it works but then refreshing it multiple times (holding down F5) seems to increase the number on last two digits…

Any ideas why?

Many Thanks

edit: here’s what I typed into the php part of the code -
<?php
echo date(‘l, F ds Y.’);
?>

I see, thanks guido2004 for the link to the manual. It will definitely help in the future. :smiley:

According to http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.date.php, you want the date to display as:

A full textual representation of the day of the week
,
A full textual representation of a month
Day of the month, 2 digits with leading zeros
[B]Seconds, with leading zeros/B
A full numeric representation of a year, 4 digits
.

So refreshing will make the seconds increase… until the end of the minute :slight_smile:
