Time formatting assistance please

Hi,

My input to db form, allows the submission of 09:00 type of times. They are being stored in a TIME format column as 09:00:00

How can I call in the times and format them to 09:00 17:00 etc and also, for another place format them to 9AM and 5PM?

TIME_FORMAT(grandchild_events_hours.opening, ‘%l:%i %p’) as opening
