My question is; do any of you use these tablets, and if so, what do you use them for?
My opinion right now:
Not sold yet. Why? Well, they’re not pocket sized and if I’m going to put the effort in to carrying something along with me, it better be worth it. Now, I don’t carry a laptop either, or a “man-purse” to carry it in, so that is where I am coming from. For those of you who do, do you see this as a replacement for the laptop, or possibly a replacement in the future?
They look tempting to buy. They look fun. But it just seems like a novelty item to collect dust later on or something bring along on an airplane or long bus ride if you happen to remember to take it with you.
So, for those of you who use them, what sold you on them, how often do you use them, and which one do you use or recommend?
Ipad is tablet of my office. I working about photo. I use it for present my work and my picture. I don’t use it for play game because i like to play game console such as Wii or Ps3.
Got a few, use them lots. I’d generally contend they are a more smartphone-like laptop (less to break, instant-on) or a more laptop-like smartphone (screen size big enough to play ball, decent processing and storage).
At the moment, I’d run with the iPad devices given that the tablet-specific apps really are what makes these things useful and honeycomb is too fresh and 'droid based tablets are too few to make much of a dent. Real fun happens in 2012 when we’ll have the summer of iOS vs Droid vs WebOS vs Win8 tablets.
I own an iPad (first generation) and I love it! I use it primarily for the browser and also watch TV/movies on Netflix and Hulu Plus. It’s very comfortable and portable, which is why I like to use it over my Macbook.
