Struggling with mockups in photoshop

Hi from too hot and humid wakefield UK.

Due to companies wanting to see web page mockups in photoshop I am having to stop doing them in fireworks my fave package.

So all i wanted to do was create this layout in photoshop:

But i had problems with the following -
Once I’d drawn a square I couldnt pick it up and move it.
I also couldnt resize a square.

Its as if everything gets loccked down. Ive tried to unlock the layer but cant.

Can any sitepoint member give me a clue how to move squares was drawn?

Any insights welcome…

After a bit of googlisation I came across an explanation which basically explained I was drawing in the background layer which is automatically locked/
To get round this a quick double click over rhe background layers unlock it :slight_smile:
