With all the different sociial media out there not to forget Blog and link building via directories and press releases how much time do you have in a day and more importantly is your time actually being cost effective are you been paid the going rate for doing what your doing especially in this climate.
I have just spent several hours on a specific project which in reality isnt going to increase traffic probably not by enough if I was being paid a proper hourly rate for the job in hand.

Your time is worth whatever people who want to employ you say it is, if you charge too much you’ll not get any work and if you don’t put the time and effort into a venture you won’t see any return. It takes time to build up a site or businesses credibility and with that comes an increased level of worth based on what you offer. 
I suggest write/blog something you are passionate about so even at the start that it is not making money yet, you would continue the effort and won’t get tired easily till you reach the time that you would earn from it.
