Has anyone ever downloaded the SMTP Mailer script from code canyon.net? I’m having a hard time getting this PHP script working, and apparently the author is no longer available.

No, I’ve not used it. But if all else fails, you could try the popular script at http://swiftmailer.org/.
I’ve used Webafricas mailer. quite good. Check their KB articles it’s somewhere on there
