Setting up monthly email alerts

Hi all, has anyone got any experience with setting up email alerts from a website page, so that, for example, if someone wanted to know when the next monthly event was, they input their email address, and then, once a month, they get an email a few days before the monthly event as a reminder. How do you set it up please?

Any help much appreciated.

The easy and nice way to do this is to sign up with a compnay like CampaignMonitor or MailChimp. They give you a simple form to put on your site, through which people can sign up to your newsletter, unsubscribe and all that.

Then you can send out emails to your subscribers through the service you choose. Mailouts are either very cheap or completely free.
