SEO, meta tag limits?

Hi!
in a well known CMS platform I add a plugin which automates a “meta tag” on each page. Thats very usefull in a way that almost all pages showing the same products… and the keywords are well linked.
My questions here are… does anyone know what Goole suggests on how many keywords shall be best serving? and…

there is an option to defiine extra keywords again for a specific page… if…

<!-- Meta Tag Manager -->
	<meta name="keywords" content=" sample A, sample B...
        <meta name="keywords" content=" sample C, Sample D
<!-- Meta Tag Manager -->

you include a second meta tag line with different keywords, … is that good? will this cause trouble? is it better to have 35 keywords everywhere on each page even if its not linked with a specific page, instead of adding a line for the specific one?

if I have 5 pages with “meat” and include as keywords, steak, beef, ribbs… and on one of the pages i also have “pork” should i put in a second meta line on the specifc page with “pork” or ad pork to each page and have 1 meta instead…

Thanks !!

ps… keep in mind its a CMS working with plug ins etc, meaning that if you would go to the specific page and ad in the line of the page another word in the 1 meta it could cause trouble with the plugin etc…

Google hasn’t used meta keyword for years.

gandalf thanks, does this mean its a total waste of time to use meta tag keywords? was it made for search engines in the earlier era? do the robots look after the words in the content text? or how will your page get searched?
TY

As @Gandalf has already said, Google pays no attention to the keywords meta tag, and neither does any other major search engine, as far as I know. My advice would be to leave it out altogether and not waste your time over it. If you are going to include it, then use it properly; add only those keywords which are relevant to the particular page. Don’t add the same keywords to every page, and don’t go down the road of keyword stuffing - adding every conceivable keyword and variation you can think of.

I may be wrong but with the increased “intelligence” of search engines, I think the concept of keywords is dead, despite what many so-called SEO experts will say. What is important is content!

gandalf458 you are right. Nowadays keyword stuffing is also a big matter. So if you are using the same keywords in meta, title and keywords Google may penalize you.
