Search engine Optimization for Bing

How many steps i need to passed for getting my website on Bing Top 10. does the seo i have done for Google ranking that is enough for Bing also?
If the way is not same, then what i should to do? let me explain what i need. make me a new comer, i have just launched a web site and i am interested to get it of top 10 on both of Google and Bing. so how many steps i should follow for this goal.

First of all, you have to verify in both Google and bing webmaster. After that update on-page of all pages and submit sitemap also. Create only quality links for your website, this strategy will show your website at both search engine.

There are thousands, if not millions, of web pages out there competing for those top ten spots. Of course it’s possible to get into the top ten - after all, somebody has to get those places. However, with all that competition, it’s not going to be as simple as “follow these steps and you’re there”. The only way you’ll get there is to have a high quality site that offers better, more relevant content than any of your competitors. So work on your content first, and expect it to be a long haul to get to the top, not a quick fix.

Not being funny, but that is you, and the rest of the world.
There are dozens of threads in this forum section with helpful info which you should read after you have read Google’s and Bing’s guidelines on what they want and don’t want.
Bar some smaller issues plus the fact that Google are miles ahead of Bing, what ranks well on Google organic serp, will generally rank well on Bing.
2 Exceptions. The first one is that despite denials from Bing/Yahoo, there are strong indications that you can buy your way into the serp top. The second one is that there will be some sites that rank significantly better on Bing due to an accumulation of small factors that by sheer coincidence are just spot on what Bing want to see. SEO is mostly hard work, producing structured, helpful original content and there are little or no clever “secrets” that will bump a poor site to page 1.

The procedure to get rank in bing is not as different as compare to Google, you just need to add your website sitemap into Bing Webmaster and try to build some quality backlinks on a website which are partnered with Bing like forums and those websites which have better rank on bing.

I was asked about how can i get my site in top 10 of both search engines, not for how to show!! afterall, thanks for goog suggestion.

Yea, this is the right answer TechnoBear, we know top positions is not easier as the seo brokers say for storing own benefits in short process.
thanks again.

Actually, i dont think so,

Dear Benbob I can show you more than 20 sites that i tried for, and already those are on top 10 of Google but after 10 in Bing.

Work hard on getting top of Google first and everything will follow, for Bing and Yahoo.

I am notice that when your keyword ranked in Google SERP and Doing SEO work regularly on your website, there is possibility that your keyword will come automatically on other search engine(Yahoo, Bing etc) SERP. If any one have some ideas for the particular work for the optimization of a website on Bing and yahoo, then share with me.

there is no different methods for different seacrh engines in seo.what the methods you are doing for google the same methods you can fallow for bing also.content is the king in seo.so keep updating on your content.content should be unique and fresh.get backlinks with your relevant and highpage rank sites.

I think what everyone means to say is no one really has the answers you’re looking for. Google and Bing work slightly differently, you can see that running a few results through each, but the differences are pretty fine details amongst a lot of secret algorithm and code the search engines protect and we can all only guess at.

I assume a general consensus is that if you get good results on Google you’ll have decent result on the other, they both basically want the same thing, but there will be a few thresholds different that throw things out. Like maybe (grasping numbers from thin air purely as an example) Google thinks a 7% keyword density is OK but Bing thinks 6% is OK and anything over that is getting spammy, however you might need that 7% density to get your top ten on Google because others have it, so for that keyword it’s impossible to be top ten on both, they will each have slightly different evaluations of social network value, what constitutes good backlinks and bad and so on. It depends on so many potential variables it’s impossible to give you a straight answer, the best you can do is fiddle around with small details bit by bit and monitor your results closely to see what might help, or if you’ve tried everything you can think of look at different keywords.

to get high ranks on Bing one have to focus on the following points:

  • Develop original and unique content toward your intended audience.
  • The coding to your page should be well mannered toward your intended audience.
  • Use well-architected code in your webpages so that users’ web browsers and search engine crawlers can read the content you want to be indexed.

You have to check bing webmaster tool and differentiate it from Google webmaster tool then you can do successful SEO for bing too,

As a lot of people have been saying, ranking well on Google is the most important for your internet marketing. However, if you want an increased in traffic, I think you should extend your marketing to other forms like PPC, PPM, SEM, etc, instead of thinking about Bing because search engines are competing for users, hence, nobody can remain in their good books for long. If you are okay on Google, other search engines will come looking for you.

Hi,

Onpage Optimization & Offpage Optimization can lead your Website to be on Top 10, however the time taken could not be said, it can take within 1 month or even also can take more than a year or more, depends on how competitive your Keywords are.

SEO done for Google ranking, may have certain impact on Bing also, but all search engines have their different algorithm for their search results.

From my point of view, work on your content first, and expect it to be a long haul to get to the top, not a quick fix. I have noticed that when the keyword is ranked in Google SERP and Doing SEO work regularly on your website, there is possibility that your keyword will come automatically on other search engine SERP. I think you should extend your marketing to other forms like, SEM, SMO, etc, instead of thinking about Bing because search engines are competing for users, hence, nobody can remain in their good books for long. If you are okay on Google, other search engines will come looking for you.

I’ve always focused on getting rankings in Google and assumed other search engines would follow. However, I’ve found Bing to be amazingly inefficient and slow.

For example, I can publish a blog post on my site for a very specific medium-competitive keyword and google will index and rank it on the first page within a couple hours. Bing on the other hand will not have it ranked on the first 10 PAGES within 60+ days. It appears like they just take a really long time to find new pages or they just don’t like my site yet. Does anyone have a really popular site that has proven that Bing can index a site fast?

A few of you have mentioned signing up for Bing Webmaster tools. That never crossed my mind before but it’s worth a try. Have any of you found solid evidence proving that is the key to indexing your site in Bing? I’m gonna set up Bing webmaster today and see if Bing becomes more than 0.02% of my search volume next month

I set up the site in Bing webmaster tools yesterday so it will be a little experiment to see if it makes a difference. I submitted a sitemap and they did immediately spider the site. Although I already had Binghoo spidering the site anyway. PM me in a month to remind me to update this thread if I forget.

Generally speaking I leave Bing and Yahoo alone since they’re so finicky. For years I’ve heard tales of people either ranking in Google, but not Yahoo and Bing, or vice versa. For me Google has always been the one that is easier to rank in through a combination of on-page and off-page work. I have one site that ranks for a handful of keywords in the top 3 positions in Google, while it took 3 years to even hit positions 5-10 for Yahoo and Bing.

In my experience it seems that Yahoo and Bing count links in a wildly different way than Google does. I’d recommend focusing on Google though, they have much more volume than Bing/Yahoo.
