Removing item from breadcrumb using CSS

Hi there,

I have a WordPress website that is inserting an item in my breadcrumbs which I do not want there. I can’t seem to easily remove it due to the way specific plugins structure pages.

I can hide it using display: none, but wondered if this will effect SEO in anyway?

If you don’t want the item there, why would you care about whether or not said element has an SEO effect?
