Relevancy of Sitepoint articles

I am new to Sitepoint, but I notice many of the articles are from 2017 for example for Symfony. Is there some process to verify the content is still accurate with current versions of software?

I don’t know if Sitepoint has such a process in place, but there are a few things you can do with any article that you find out there on the net.

  1. Contact the author and ask if the article is still viable for modern versions. They may be happy to update it.

  2. Try it yourself on the modern version and maybe report it to the author if it doesn’t work.

  3. See if there are other more modern articles that can corroborate the findings of the first article.

Some software projects move faster than others and I have found that typically 50% of articles that are 4 or 5 years old still work in some fashion. Knowing this I will sometimes read an older article, learn the tricks and then go read a more modern version article and fill in the gaps of knowledge of things that changed.

Thank you @Martyr2 . These are all good points. I appreciate your taking the time to write.
