My theme has an option to add the ref attribute to the end of a link automatically
It adds ?ref=websitename automatically
What does it do?
How does this help?

Iām guessing ref means referrer. I guess you could use it to help track where your traffic is coming from.
Either just be simply looking for pages like /thispage?ref=www.example.com in Analytics, or maybe there is a server-side script to log referrers.
