Reason for Alexa Rank drop

Hi Buddies, Few month ago my website ranking increased in Alexa but after revamp of my website suddenly my website ranking has been dropping down, I don’t know what’s the reason. Can anyone provide me assistance??

What did you change?
It could just be due to indexing. If the side was changed significantly, some previously indexed pages may not be found and the new ones not yet added to the index. So it may take time for the new content to be indexed and start ranking better. If this is the case you could use 301 redirects to remove 404 errors.

Unless you have a paid plan with Alexa and are using their code to accurately track visitors, their statistics will be estimated. If this is the case, I wouldn’t worry too much about it, as you have no way of knowing how accurate or otherwise their ranking is.

Much more important, in my opinion, is whether or not your site has dropped in SERPs, or whether your site traffic has decreased.

This reason might be unusual but might be one!
The traffic coming to your website may not come under Alexa’s count. The reasons may be because od no alexa toolbars present on your viewers browser or no alexa widget on your website. Get to know the detailed concepts and pratices to increase alexa rank for your website. Hope that helps!

Honestly, people… how many time do I have to say this? XD

Google or Alexa ranking are… eeeerrr… important… but panicking every time the ranking changes is crazy.

The reasons why your Alexa ranking has dropped could be sooooo many that it is impossible to know. It might be simply a case that a few thousand people uninstalled Alexa’s toolbar. Or that your service is seasonal and people are not interested right now and therefore not searching for it… and that means that your traffic (and everyone else’s who do the same) is dropping.

Do not misunderstand me. We all want to be at Google’s number one search results but you’re looking to the whole thing the wrong way and asking the wrong questions.

Let’s say that you sell Ferraris for $300,000 and your site received only 100 visitors. But 4 of them buy a Ferrari which will cover your costs for 1 full year with a good profit included… Would you really care if you ranked 3,809,000?

Ranking only is an estimation, and it only tells you if you’re getting better in the visibility department and attracting new visitors. And that’s good. It is a guideline, but one of many.

If you’re unable of retaining that traffic and getting results… Then, is it raking that important? I think not

And it is hard for anyone to know why your traffic is gonig down (which could be one month thing anyway) because I don’t know your market, I don’t know the people you’re targetting and I don’t have a clue of what you sell, why you sell it, how you sell it, etc.

Know your customer and everything will go fine
