Profiting from links in blog content?

Hello,

I wrote a travel blog over 6 week that gave a in-depth account of places I travelled in Australia, i’m just working on polishing off a bit and the few final days. I’ve added some google advertising to the sidebar but have only had a few clicks.

I would like to add some links to places I stayed and experiences I had with different companies but wonder if there is a way to profit from this when adding a link in my post?

By linking to these other sites, will this drive traffic to my site? Is there any way to add links to create any kind of revenue from it?

Thanks!

I think what you lack is optimzation of your blog. or maybe you need to be more persuasive in order more people would click the links.

Page Rank is a scam. Google hates these kind of sites that sell links just for the pr and it Google has changed so much since people started doing this that PR is only a small part of the entire system they use now.

I misunderstood the question. You can profit from advertisements which are links to other sites. You can also sell links to other sites, but this is tricky.

You should sell banner space directly to the company rather than links. This is the only way to really help do what your trying to do, but most of the time they don’t need this since your already promoting the product for free.

You are not likely to make money in ads if the businesses you featured in your article don’t have any idea the importance of you linking to their sites.

You can earn money out of these links if the website owners are willing to pay you for those links, if your website has good Page Rank and traffic then maybe they’ll be interested.

You could contact the people your links point to and ask them for reciprocal links. Chances are the content of your site is much more about actual experience of their location, product, place, whatever. They might like to add a line in their site that says something like “Don’t just take our word for it. Take a look at westendgirl’s blog to see what a real customer thought.” and have some traffic driven to you that way.

Having all the outgoing links will make your site more useful to those planning similar trips so they’ll keep coming back to your site more often as a result of those links.

I’m guessing that your six week old site has very little traffic. Wait until you get lots of traffic and then monetise it. Otherwise you’ll be chasing pennies.

No.

6 months…

You should be more patient than that. If it only took 6 months to bank off adsense everyone would do it.

It takes time and patience for the most part. Adsense will supply beer money or a car payment at most in the beginning. It takes time to build up your blog and you should be patient as you work on it more and more to build a name around it.

Blogs also don’t bank right off the bat.

i don’t really get it… but in my understanding… you want to link to other sites and if its going to gain from it? … well if those site links to you then it can help…

  1. build backlinks
  2. optimize meta tags
  3. learning SEO
  4. Quality Content
