Probably a very easy thing to do.. adding a particular navigation box

Hey everyone, I’m still very new to wordpress and have been looknig for the correct forum where simple questions like this may be asked and answered. If I’m not in the right spot please just let me know.

I am trying to make a navigation box with hover-over links, it’s easier if I just show you where I’ve seen it done.

www.molddoctors.net/surface-defense-mold-prevention.htm

See on the right where the box has “Humidex, Drylok… Surface Defense”? I kind of want to do something like that but I honestly don’t even know where to start.

Any help would be awesome… thank you!

That is just a navigation menu placed in the sidebar with the box styled using css. I can probably help you with that.

Are you using a pre-made theme, a child-theme or a custom-made theme?

I am using a child theme – I had someone develop the site for us and I’m just trying to learn how to add pages and content.

If the theme is not set up for multiple navigation menus, you will have to be able to do some coding. I can walk you through this if you like.

But it would probably be better if you spent a bit of time getting comfortable with the dashboard and adding pages first before you get involved in adding code.

Let me know if you want to try it, though.

By the way, what is the name of the parent theme that you are using?

The theme that the guy used is called Avada. I am only really new to wordpress… I actually used to do web development back in what seems like a lifetime ago when we were all mostly using dreamweaver and cgi… everything is different now and I realize wordpress is a great tool to keep up with content… so I had the site redesigned using it.

Now I’m just trying to figure out how to make minor changes and additions.
