PNG Opacity Issue with IE7/8 and jQuery

Hi All,

I am working on a site located here:

http://www.fasttrackincentives.com/

The jQuery content slider is having some transparency issues with the PNG’s we popped into DDSlider (http://codecanyon.net/item/ddsliderwp-11-transitions-slide-manager-panel/109211).

I have tried to fix the issue with the two following pages:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1251416/png-transparency-problems-in-ie8

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1156985/jquery-cycle-ie7-transparent-png-problem

As you can see, I’ve fixed the black halo that used to appear around the photos, where the drop shadow is. What I can’t seem to fix, however, is the background color behind the text boxes on the left side of the images. As soon as the animation kicks in, the background darkens.

I wrote the plug-in author and he was most unhelpful: “Unfortunately there’s nothing we can do about that. It’s just the way IE behaves.”

Does anyone here have idea how to solve this PNG-IE-jQuery-opacity-snafu??

Thank you in advance for any help.

Regards,

Ansel Taft

This may or may not be of use but in post #5 of this thread the poster says that he has solved the issue with the IE pngs so it might be worth a test.

Geez Paul, you’re everywhere!

I am working on seeing how I can integrate that into the plug-in now.

Thanks,

Ansel
