Online Youtube Downloader Safety

hi, not sure if this has been posted before, I have a general question and have received a few mixed answers already so I was hoping some of you guys could help me.

I download my desired videos from Youtube quick and easy, save to HD, MP4, M4A, MPEG or FLV formats, simply by pasting the URL into a link grabber here: etyn.com/tools/youtube-downloader BUT have no idea about the safeness of online tools, had to mention the site looks good but it connects to another server to download the file, is it secure? if it’s not how can it harm my PC?

yes, it’s definetely can harmen your pc. It can be slow down your pc and also corrupt your hardware devices. It’s also very effect your performance, so you have to must sure what the exact reason behind it.

I am looking for the safeness too, because most of the free stuff contained virus…

Agreed!

I use keepvid.com and been using it for years, seems safe.

Just don’t click on the banners.

Dont go for it. I downloaded a Youtube Clips Downloader called ‘ClipGrab’ and it infected a trojan in my laptop. I had to restore my computer…

So, leave it.

I’ve used filetransfersecurity.com/youtube-downloader-pro-free-download and it was quick, easy and safe. to be frank there are a number of tools out there currently that you can use. I have antivirus installed on my PC so it warns me if I’m downloading anything that will cause harm.

Just to be clear here, downloading videos is against YouTube’s TOS.

5. General restrictions on use

5.1 YouTube hereby grants you permission to access and use the Service, subject to the following express conditions, and you agree that your failure to adhere to any of these conditions shall constitute a breach of these Terms on your part:

you agree not to access Content through any technology or means other than the video playback pages of the Website itself, the YouTube Player, or such other means as YouTube may explicitly designate for this purpose;

you agree not to access Content for any reason other than your personal, non-commercial use solely as intended through and permitted by the normal functionality of the Service, and solely for Streaming. “Streaming” means a contemporaneous digital transmission of the material by YouTube via the Internet to a user operated Internet enabled device in such a manner that the data is intended for real-time viewing and not intended to be downloaded (either permanently or temporarily), copied, stored, or redistributed by the user.

There is an extension on Mozilla with name of “Download Helper” you can try that too, it’s an easy and safe way to download videos.
Just in case you want to know how to go about it. I can share a link with easy steps to it. I personally feel it to be quite safe.

Safe maybe, but against youtube’s TOS as apparently steps have been taken to prevent this.

This add-on used to work great but now most of the videos from YouTube won’t download, especially VEVO channel, and also it does not work with VEVO.com.

Because downloading is against youtube’s TOS
