New tabs not spawning when using iOS

When my members login a lightbox is presented to them. If they indicate they are interested in the promotion, a new browser tab will launch if they are using a desktop. Today, however, I just realized this is not happening if an iPad is used. This is not technically a “popup window”, so therefore shouldn’t be blocked in a person’s browser settings.

Any idea on how to address this for iOS users?
