Navigation menu in Elementor/Wordpress

Rookie/newbie question here:

I’m designing a site using Elementor Pro in Wordpress and for some reason can’t get the Navigation Menu up at the top of the page. I’ve tried Appearance → Menus → Primary Menu and added it, I’ve tried Widgets but it only takes me to the Footer section, and I’ve even tried the Nav Menu feature in Elementor Pro.

Which leads me to think can I just customize this using HTML/CSS.

Or am I missing something?!

Tnx,
From a rookie web designer

Sorry I can’t help with the WordPress or elementor plugin but if you can show me the page I’ll see if there’s anything CSS on its own can do.

I assume you’ve researched articles like this first.

Thanks–let me attach a screenshot.

Basically just looking for a standard navigation menu to display the menu of pages–Home, About, Services, Contact Us.

Any custom HTML/CSS I can use for that?

Much appreciated.

You really want to add the menu html via your wordpress system first as it will need to keep track of the pages and their current states etc. It’s obviously the most common task so I wouldn’t think that the option will be hidden away.

From what I can see it looks straight forward in a standard wordPress installation and the elementor pro documentation.

Once you have installed the menu then it can be styled as required but I think you need to persevere with doing it the wordPress way to start with.

I’ll move the thread to the CMS forum and hopefully someone versed in wordPress can help.
