My HP laptop is showing black screen

2 days ago, when I started my laptop after 2-3 days suddenly it displayed a blue screen error after that it error appeared saying "BOOT MANGER is missing. System cannot load (Boot).Since then it is only showing black screen while CAPSLOCK LED keeps blinking while WIFI light is on all the time.I can hear my fan working. I’ve already checked RAM and other things but not finding any solution to boot my laptop.
So can anyone help me regarding that ?
Thank you

Depending upon how old your laptop is, the message “BOOT MANAGER is missing” could be a corrupted boot sector. You might be able to recover by booting up using a USB drive or DVD, and use some tools to recover. If not, your laptop might be a doorstop.

PS. It’s been over a decade since I was known as a hardware guy, things may have changed, IDK. Maybe it’s not as bad as I suspect.

My laptop is 6-7 years old and was working fine. I tried booting up with Windows 10 DVD but I was not able to access anything as it is only showing black screen nothing else.

AH, okay, that is a different issue, then. But, still, 6-7 years old is OLD in computer terms. Experts recommend upgrading every 3-5 years. I would say that it could be a slightly detached or dirty video cable, or something like that, but the part you wrote about the caps lock light blinking, and the WiFi light being on, I’m not so sure.

If you can afford it (and if you have a Best Buy in your area), take it to Geek Squad and have them troubleshoot it. (This is a HUGE thing for me to say, as I normally do not like GS; but it might be your best bet.)

okay thanks

Did you check your harddrive (connection)? I had the exact same problem a few weeks ago. A few days before I had replaced the hard drive which didn’t fit in the harddrive sled, so I placed it without and that worked fine. But by moving and traveling with the laptop, the hard drive became more and more loose from the connection. And that was the problem. After pushing it back in it worrked again

This usually happens in circuit of motherboard or else it may have a bad cable connection. your wifi and capslock led are fine. you can perform hard reset on your laptop else last resort to contact an expert.

When I had this issue, I took my laptop to the repair store. They said that my laptops motherboard is dead. So they have changed it for 150 USD, ant thats all…
