If I could create a plugin for Netbeans that slapped me in the face every time I type :w, I’d probably get more work done.

I’ve done that, when I was doing C++ development. I was so accustom to using vi, that anytime I was in an editor, I kept hitting escape and insert constantly overwriting code I already wrote.
