Mod rewrite godaddy

I am currently using this mod_rewrite on hostgator for a WordPress site and it works perfectly. However, it will not play nice with godaddy’s hosting. Any suggestions on how to get it to work. I have tried different direct paths, but keep getting a 500 error.

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
RewriteRule ^(.*)images/uploads/(.*) $1mymark.php?src=images/uploads/$2

If I remember correctly, GoDaddy is (at least it was) one of the few hosts which either do not allow you to use .htaccess OR do not have mod_rewrite enabled. Remove the @#$% <IfModule> wrappers and see if that generates 500 errors (for EVERY request, i.e., be ready to add them back OR delete your .htaccess … if this is all you have in it). That will tell you (a) whether .htaccess is being read and (b) whether mod_rewrite is installed.

Thank you
