I would like to know better ways to compress and minify jquery scripts, if i have multiple scripts and some of them from the same author…can i simply copy and paste them into one file? will i violate and terms?

you can compress your script using online tool on http://jscompress.com/, and if you are updating any file, just add comment that you changed something…
I don’t see any problems with that.
