Is phpmyadmin an optional utility in LAMP server or an utmost necessity?

Hi,

Is there a necessity to install phpmyadmin while installing LAMP server on Ubuntu 16.04? I believe that all the functions that can be provided by phpmyadmin are already there in mysql command line interface.

if you already know an alternative way to do your database maintenance then you don’t need phpmyadmin
