So here is my situation (I apologize if this post is a tad long but I want to provide all the information…):
I work for a small company that deals with installing HVAC systems primarily but also surveillance, fire detection and various security systems. We have teams that each day are assigned different tasks, installs etc. To keep track and organize everything we needed some scheduling software, but because of the way we have to work none really fitted our needs… So instead of buying some scheduling software that didn’t fit our needs, I kinda came up with a workaround.
Right now I use Google Forms to create each appointment and assign it to each team. After the form is created the data in the google sheet is used by autocrat(plugin) to generate all the paperwork necessary for each appointment, all i have to do is print it. Also by using a few formulas in Google Sheet each appointment is given a unique ID number and it also lets me have a look at the upcoming appointment kinda like a calendar view.
The problem is, our little company is growing… more teams, more appointments, my solution will no longer be viable in a few months. Already after 4 months it’s getting reeaaaaallllyyy slow. We made around 600 appointments…
What i would like to do is actually make a dedicated app for our company. I have some notions of HTML and CSS but that is about it. I do not really know where to start. Should I make this a Web app or should I just make a program for windows?
To clarify : My company will support me and me learning to actually code. This is not a decision made on a whim, it is a small collective and a small company and we have been to hell together. What i want is some opinions on how to aproach this project and some guidance on where to start.
