I suggest you search the forums, as we already have a number of threads on this subject. You will also find some useful articles over at the main SitePoint site.
What work have you done so far, and how effective has it been? The more information you can give us about what you’ve already tried, the more helpful the replies are likely to be. At the moment, the question is so vague that people are likely to respond simply with a list of tasks, which is not necessarily very helpful - especially if you’ve already tried some or most of them.
