HTML and CSS editor that previews with Safari?

Hi there, does anyone knows a editor that previews on safari ? until now I only founded the ones that previews with chrome and IE.

Thank you.

I’m not totally sure what you mean. But you can open your files in any browser to test them, so I just keep a page open in all browsers. There are some programs like CodeKit that I think automatically refresh browsers for you.

The editor I use (Bluefish) allows me to set the preview menu to include as many browsers as I want, with one of those set as the main, or default, option. The shortcut button opens the site in the default browser, and the menu allows me to open it in any other. I imagine other editors do the same. (They possibly come pre-configured for the most popular browsers, and you need to add others manually.)

You mention both Safari and IE. Which OS are you using? As I understand it, Safari for Windows is long dead, and so is IE for Mac.

Hi TechnoBear, I work on mac os X, I understand that bluefish is for linux platforms only ?
Thank you for your reply

Thank you for your reply ralphm, I had a look at CodeKit, but I need something more affordable. Thanks.

Is there any particular reason you are wedded to Safari? It’s not much of a browser, imho. Another nice code editor is Brackets, by Adobe, which is free, and does live updates in Chrome (but not Safari).

Coda for Mac will preview in Safari. It’s an enjoyable light IDE.

No, although I do use it on Linux (Ubuntu Gnome). But it’s available for other OSs, too. (I was going to quote from their home page, but @ronpat beat me to it. ) You can find instructions for installing on Mac if you scroll down this page: http://bfwiki.tellefsen.net/index.php/Installing_Bluefish

Although as @ralphm says, there are other editors available for Mac, too, which probably do the same thing.
