Second it depends on various factors when you are thinking to earn via Google Adsence Like:
Traffic: what type of traffic you are having & how much
Location: from which location you are getting traffic
Niche: which niche you are working with
Keywords: which are keywords you are targetting? are they profitable?
CPC: what is the expected CPC for your keywords
After You are sure about these things, the very next thing you can do it experiment with your adsense ads. You can try different ad sizes, ad locations on your site to analyse the difference.
