Besides directory submissions, article writing and buying links (cheating) what are your options as far as one-way backlinks go. I don’t exactly have any websites that could get tons of PR to send my rankings through the roof naturally.
There are Several option that can give pure love backlinks for you.
1. Guest posting on other blogs.
2. Blog commenting.
3. Signs on Popular forums with your site link.
4. Social bookmarking.
5. Video submission on video sites like youtube with a link in description.
6. Offer free HTML/CSS template with a link in footer. (wordpress and blogger templates are best).
7. Link exchanges.
8. Writing List posts like top 100 or a 101 list post ( can give you mad backlinks).
Link exchanges are a thing of the past. Some even say it’s a “blackhat method” to build backlinks.

Create profile on social networking sites, blog commenting, forum posting these are some things which i am using for creating one way backlinks for my site.
If anybody have better things for creating one back link for free please suggest us…

Why not make your job easier and try to promote something that is unique?

Create Bookmarks using digg, blinklist etc.

You’re right - buying links is considered cheating. That’s why bought links (and even traded links) are given less value than ones generated by quality content. In fact, buying links can get you in big trouble, and even banned completely from Google.
